It’s that time of year when we are about ready to give up our New Year’s Resolution. How about you? Are you struggling with the change? Ready to settle back to old habits?
Zig Ziglar’s book, “See You At the Top” has inspired thousand of people to greatness. And part of realizing that greatness is achieving goals! Now is a perfect time to look at those resolutions, and turn them into real goals. Here are 5 measures to evaluate your intentions for the new year.
- Have you written your goals down?
- Have you written down why it’s important to reach your goals?
- Have you determined the benefits you will enjoy when you have achieved when you get there?
- What obstacles must you overcome to get there?
- Who do you need to enlist to help you?
Writing your intentions in clear, specific language is a powerful step toward realizing your resolutions for the new year. Vision boards provide visual pictures to help you see what you want to accomplish. When the fear of failure tells you, “It’s no use. Nothing will ever change,” keep in mind that writing is just the starting point.
Next week, we’ll talk about specific steps to take your goals from dreams in your head to actionable, concrete steps!
“You go as far as you see, and when you get there, you will always be able to see a little farther.” Zig Ziglar
